Apex Overhang Field Shelters
Our field shelters provide shelter in winter or summer and are built to the same high standard as all of our timber buildings. Mobile field shelters usually require no planning permission or in most cases no groundwork.
This type of building can be easily moved around a paddock or field with a 4 x 4 or tractor.
All of our mobile field shelter buildings are fully customisable to your own personal requirements, with openings of virtually any size and can incorporate metal or timber gates and doors.

WESTREE COMPANY EST 1975.
TIMBER SKIDS (MOBILE BUILDINGS).
6"x 3" (150 x 75mm) Pressure treated timber joined with 2"(50mm) painted metal angles and bolted to the skids providing towing points.
D links are included for the attachment of rope or chain.
Two skids per building unless a timber floor is to be incorporated, then five skids will be used.
Metal skids available on request.
TIMBER FLOOR.
Pressure treated 6"x 1"(150 x 38mm) fixed across five skids.
TIMBER SUPPORT POSTS (STATIC BUILDINGS).
Pressure treated 4"x 4"(100 x 100mm) posts are attached to all the timber sections and secured into the ground.
TIMBER FRAMING.
Pressure treated 3"x 2" (75 x 50mm) CLS.
Timbers are spaced at 16" (400mm) centres up to 4' (1.2m).
TIMBER CLADDING.
Pressure treated ex 5"x ⅝" (125 x 16mm) Ship- lap fixed to the timber frame with (38mm) galvanised nails.
OPENING FRAMES.
Pressure treated 4"x 3" (100 x 75mm).
PARTITION WALLS.
Pressure treated 3"x 2" (75 x 50mm) CLS.
Timbers are spaced at 16" (400mm) centres. Clad with (11mm) OSB boarding to 4' and ⅜" (8mm) OSB boarding to the eaves.
KICKBOARD.
As standard we fit (11mm) OSB (Oriented strand board) up to 4' (1.22m) in all of our field shelter buildings.
OVERHANG.
As standard we fit a 4' (1.2m) stable overhang fully underlined with ⅜" (8mm) OSB boarding.
ROOF PURLINS.
Pressure treated 3"x 2" (75 x 50mm) CLS. Supported by custom built trusses spaced at 6' (1.8m) centres.
BARGE BOARDS.
Pressure treated 6"x 1" (150 x 24mm) fitted to the gable ends.
FASCIA BOARDS.
Pressure treated 6"x 1½" (150 x 38mm) fitted to the front of the building to enable the installation of guttering.
ROOFING.
As standard we fit Onduline black roofing sheets.
